BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS: $crooge is a fighter, a "duck of iron." He is a very big operator and a dreamer who has conquered commerce on every front and built a monument to himself: three cubic acres of cash! He will employ any means (miserly of course) to increase or preserve his fortune, except dishonesty. Snappy dresser known for wearing a top hat, spats and a smoking jacket; spectacles and often carrying a walking cane. He resides in a mansion with his Staff of faithful servants Duckworth the Butler & Chauffeur (Battista or Dudsworth in comics) and Mrs. Beakley the Maid, Cook & Nephews' Nanny; adjacent to a large money bin (said to hold over 6 billion dollars - virtually every last cent the miser ever earned). The inside walls of the bin are marked similar to a swimming pool so he can measure the depth of his "liquid assets" which he, in fact, likes to dive into and swim about (one of his favorite pastimes). In the comic book 12-part serial "The Life and Times of $crooge McDuck" from "Uncle $crooge" #285 - 296 (May 1995 - Feb. 1996) a version of $crooge's history and rise to wealth and fame is recounted by Don Rosa, and an abridged version of Carl Bark's original tale was presented in the "DUCK TALES" episode "Once Upon a Dime" (Dec. 24, 1987). Aside from the members of his Staff, other characters important to Uncle $crooge are Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey & Louie, Fenton Crackshell & Gizmoduck, Launchpad McQuack, Webby and Gyro Gearloose. Uncle $crooge and his Nephews were regulars in the Disney animated program ""DuckTales".
