BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS: Max has had a longer career in cartoons than many realize, though this may be due to his complete overhaul. Max began as Goofy's hellion son in the early "Geef" cartoons and was usually called "Junior," though occasionally "George Junior" and was affectionately known by the studio as "Goofy Junior." In these shorts, while still a dogface, he resembled his mother, Mrs. Goofy, possessing red hair and a wild disposition. Upon reaching adolesence, apparently, his red hair and nose turned black and his ears grew longer so he resembled his father more. Max's greatest fear is that these changes will continue until he is exactly like his "goofy" father.  P.J., his neighbor, is his best friend. Goofy Junior's career in comics is much briefer having probably only appeared in the Dell Four Color comic "The Goofy Adventure Story" # 857 which was simply a retelling of several Goofy cartoons tied together under thepremise of Goofy explaining the Goof Family Tree to his son.
